What would be an example of “Perfection”?
“Tajmahal”….may be, some beautiful movie like Mughle-Azam…. Probably, An
excellent book by Premchand….Nah. These all could be near to perfection, but
calling them “perfect” would be too much to ask for.
What else then; “Nature”…. Oh yes, the
“Nature” is bountiful, boundless, immeasurable yet “Flawless”. Don’t you
agree?? The imperfect shapes of clouds bring the perfect view; the sunrays
emerging out from the sporadic raindrops help the formation of the perfect
Rainbow. Those witty waves hitting each other make those perfect thundering
sounds in that relentless wild river. The swing of the tree branches during a
storm, the chase by a cheetah at that electrifying speed or that sharp
astonishing turn by the impala at the last moment saving him from the jaws of
death, are all the vivid images of Perfection. Are they not…?
I read an article on “Circumcision for the
newly born male children”. The writer advocated his idea of banning
circumcision in USA because as per him, this is so un-natural and an
unnecessary pain to that new born. The article made enough sense to me and
increased my belief in the perfection of Nature. Anything natural must have
some reason to be in the existence and it must be respected in it’s original
form.
If we go by the same logic, I do not find
any reason to oppose the tendency of homosexuality. It indeed is a form of
nature as the sexual urge or sexual orientation is an inherent output of a
stimulus in the brain’s nervous system. The challenger might argue that how
could it be real when it is against the natural process of reproduction. I
agree, it is an aberration but then it might be the nature’s own way of
addressing the issue of population explosion. Who can argue on the growing
scarcity of natural resources available and if human beings can’t address that,
perhaps Nature has it’s own reflex system in place. Are the ugly cancerous
growths, diseases, body malfunctions etc, not a part of the same beautiful
Nature??
The discussion above raises another doubt
in my mind, if Nature is so perfect, how could the part of the same nature, the
Human Beings be so imperfect at times. We fight, we stumble, we struggle and we
fail. We cry, we rejoice, we take pleasure in other’s failures and we fall prey
to greed. We indulge in worldly pleasures, we hate the competition, we try to
outdo each other and we become selfish. We play with emotions, we fiercely love
our dear ones, we define rules and boundaries and we become hypocrites. So many
conflicting thoughts and actions, so much of confusion, so many stigmas and so
much of hatred. The communities seem to be in disarray. What could be the
reason??
Are the human tendencies and
characteristics like Greed, ambition, hate, displeasure, lust etc really the
reason of all the negativity. If it is so, then Is Nature also Imperfect or
this too is an anomaly and a part of the Nature’s invisible reflex system;
after all, these human traits are a part of nature. Human beings are the
naturally chosen recipients of these traits and they are ordained to have these
tendencies inbuilt.
Let’s dig in further. What is the peak of a
human’s existence?? As the scriptures say, it’s “complete surrender”. Surrender
to your inner self, surrender to one’s own soul by winning over the worldly
illusions. Surrender to become “Conscious”. Sri Krishna says in Bhagwad Gita
“दुःखेषुअनुद्विगन्मनः ,सुखेषुविगतस्पृहः।
वीतरागà¤à¤¯à¤•्रोधः ,स्थितधीरमुनिरुच्यते।“
Means, a Conscious soul is the one who
doesn’t retaliate to the situations. A conscious person who is called “Muni”
has a mind and soul unperturbed by the situations.
If that is so, then it takes us back to the
same question that why human traits like “Ambition, Greed, jealousy, lust,
Anger” etc are present in the first place and how can a part of the Nature be
so imperfect? What is wrong in the whole system, seems like something is
missing somewhere.
Nothing comes from nothing. Nature has it’s
own ways of selection of the people for the assignment of specific
roles/characters to be played in this live movie. Each role is equally
important but has to be nurtured differently. Though, Human beings have a
system in place for learning the skills, Nature con-notates towards a much more
sustainable method based on “Experiential Learning”. No theory can teach the
amount of heat produced by a candle to a child until he touches it once and
feels the burning sensation on his fingers. Nobody can learn swimming without
immersing itself in a water body.
You can’t feel that sinking feeling or that
silence in yourself without venting your rage and displeasure on somebody.
Without being an object of such abject behavior, you can’t comprehend the
emotions felt by another rejected person. These negative traits in fact are the
“Gates to the wisdom”. One doesn’t need to shy away from them. If they occur in
your mind and are being suppressed, beware they will produce an unbearable
stink. Unleash yourself, listen to your heart, give way to your emotions and
then listen to the cry of your soul. The scars in your soul will become a
bigger vessel to contain more joy. Laugh out loud and feel the pain when you
are hurt. Learn those precious lessons and become graceful with each passing
moment in your life. The wisdom awaits on the path of Self-expression and
self-exploration. The way to purify yourself and make yourself immune to the
negative feelings originates from within. The cosmos has an answer of every
question, we need to look in deeply. Yes, the “Nature” is flawless and so are
you on your path to become flawless.
Let’s walk the path to become the “Conscious” in the Iconoclast way. Welcome to our world with a new dimension of thoughts.
